Apple adds Vevo, Disney Channel, Weather Channel, Disney XD and Smithsonian to Apple TV
Apple proceeds to add new content to Apple TV. It has quietly added new apps for the Vevo music channel – for on-demand all music videos, The Weather Channel, which broadcasts weather forecasts including weather-related news, on with documentaries and entertainment programming associated with weather, the Smithsonian Channel – which makes you original documentaries and videos exploring history, nature, and culture, air and space, science, Disney Channel, and Disney XD.
Here’s a quotation from Vevo’s press release:
Apple TV users are sure to know the natural and efficient design. VEVO observers can immediately browse videos by featured artists, including all of the most advanced premieres. VEVO includes various modes of discovery – you can watch on-demand
videos from any genre, or choose any video that piques your interest. If you have something special in mind, perform a search, and we will surface what you’re watching for right at your fingertips.
Finally, in June, Apple had added HBO GO, Sky News’ 24/7 news feed, WatchESPN, including on-demand news library, Crunchyroll, the leading global video service for Japanese Anime and Asian media, and Qello, a first on-demand streaming service for HD concerts and music documentaries.
Interestingly, unlike last time Apple has added the new apps without a software update, so you will be ready to access them quickly. We’re known Disney Channel and Disney XD cannot be accessed outside the U.S. Let us know if these new apps are available on your Apple TV.
